Rebecca McClellan earns 65.4% of assembly vote, earning top line on primary ballot, showing clear front runner status in State Board of Education campaign
At Sunday’s sixth congressional assembly at Overland High School in Aurora, State Board of Education candidate Rebecca McClellan was the clear frontrunner, finishing over 30 points ahead of Ilana Spiegel. McClellan, who has the support of Congressional Candidate Morgan Carroll, Congressman Ed Perlmutter, and over a dozen state legislators, began campaign preparation over a year ago, and filed her candidacy in July of 2015.
“I’m honored to have the support of so many voters across the sixth congressional district. Our strong first place finish at the assembly shows that Democratic voters want an experienced candidate who can win in November and is ready to serve effectively.”
McClellan is the former Mayor Pro-Tempore and Council Liaison to public schools for Centennial, parent of two students in public schools, and advocate for public schools.
